Anna-Kay Brown has been a resident of the Jane–Finch community for over 15 years. With a background in Criminal Justice, her work focuses on community building, advocacy, and advancing equity. She began by volunteering with initiatives such as the Jane Finch Action for Neighbourhood Change, and later joined the Anchor YorkU local hiring discussions. She went on to play a key role in the Black Creek Fair Economies Project and helped engage stakeholders and residents in creating the Jane–Finch Community Benefits Framework. Anna-Kay is a long-time community leader and organizer. She is active in the Jane Finch Housing Coalition, the Jane Finch Education Action Group, and the Right to Housing Toronto table.
